My grandmother was an amazing person. A bridge Life Master who loved to travel. During one of her adventures to Mexico, she brought me back a souvenir rough that had a bit of turquoise. At age 7 or 8, I put it into my little treasure box.

My 50 year old turquoise rough.

This weekend I was trying to organize my little watch collection which included trying to find the links, tags, etc. for each watch. As I dug around, I came across the turquoise and decided to see if I could actually cut it.

Well, long story short, I was able to turn it into a little cabochon with the help of my awesome cabKing setup. After a little goldsmithing, the stone was set in a white gold bezel mount.

My daughter then had the great idea to display the piece in a small picture frame and, here it is!
